Rachel and Tony got married June 7th at the Hartley Botanica in Ventura, CA.   This was the 2nd of the 2 weddings I assisted my friend and fellow photographer Charise with in Los Angeles.

Hartley Botanica, is beyond gorgeous and is a unique wedding venue that was specifically designed for weddings and receptions.  There were flowers everywhere you turned, stunning waterfalls, archways and hidden pathways.   There were sounds of birds coming from every place imaginable.  This truly is an amazing venue for a wedding.
Something I was able to see Charise set up at this event was a photo booth.  Basically this is a place people came and took crazy, funny and wild photos. Using a basic white seamless backdrop, lighting and TONS OF COOL PROPS… the guests had a BLAST. I saw crazy pimp hats, Kanye glasses, pink boa’s, oversized sunglasses and more.   If this is something you are interested in doing for your wedding please let me know I can give you additional information.

Here are some of the photos from the day.

Last weekend I headed down to Los Angeles to shoot 2 weddings with my good friend and Photographer Charise of  Photography By Charise. I don’t mind flying down to do destination weddings, especially in LA since my family is there and because LA was my home for most of my life. It is HOME to me.  So not only do I get to photograph weddings, I got to visit my family and do some fun LA things. ( that’s another blog post)
The first wedding was Bill and Amanda’s, which was held at Pierpoint Inn in Ventura, CA.

This location is one of the prettiest I have seen yet.  There were so many places to take great photos. Greenery, beach overlook, great old doors, archways, brick walls, and more.  I wasn’t at a loss for places to be creative that’s for sure.

Charise offers her Bride and Groom a special extra hour of shooting if they opt to see each other before the wedding.  “First Glance” if you will.  It takes the pressure off everyone to avoid seeing each other and it gives you an extra hour for photos.  We managed to get some AMANZING shots in this hour.

A gorgeous couple, fun friends and family and kick ass location makes for a fantastic wedding.   Here are some photos from the day!

A few Saturdays ago, I headed out to Downtown Seattle to meet Morgan ( one of my previous seniors and one of my most favorite people to shoot) .  It was Jackson Senior High’s ( located in Mill Creek) Prom and she wanted some photos of her and boyfriend Neyaz.  I suggested downtown because 1. her Prom was being held closeby.  2.  Morgan is willing to try different things and use fun and interesting places as her backdrop.   So we went to Pike Place Market.   There are so many areas to use down here.  We started down the stairs by the fish market where they have an awesome wall of just crazy posted magazine ads.  A bit busy but it totally works for the photos I was seeing.     We also used Post Alley and the waterfront park.

I am not sure why Morgan isnt modeling because she just sparkles in front of the camera and her eyes are to die for!!!!!
