I had the pleasure of photographing Kara and Matt’s wedding October 10th, 2009. Kara found me online but didn’t realize I was in Seattle. Kara was in Connecticut at the time, planning on moving to Colorado and having her wedding in California. Having lived in California most of my life, I do travel there and had no problems booking a wedding out of state. Even though we never met face to face until the day before her wedding, we really hit it off. We became facebook friends, we chatted via messages, e-mail and phone calls. I really felt that we had the same vision and style which made it VERY easy when the wedding day came.

Kara and Matt wanted to have their bridal party photos taken at the Santa Ana Train Station and their ceremony and reception was at the Hacienda in Santa Ana. The setting was gorgeous and made for a wonderful backdrop for the event.

Here are just a few photos from their day!

Happy Birthday Izzy

October 4, 2009

I have a tradition of 11′s in my family, my son’s birthday is May 11th, and mine is April 11th. So when Izzy was born October 11th, I was thrilled and somewhat shocked that I was able to pull it off. ( she was Due Oct 17th)
She was born Isabella Gracelyn. I called her Bella ( before Twilight, thank you very much) but everyone else called her Izzy and eventually I realized she was an Izzy. ( feisty and spunky)

Even though the 11th is a week away, we will be in L.A shooting a wedding and celebrating at Disneyland. ( I will be sure to post photos of course and document her visit. ) It has been 2 years since anyone has seen her there and she has changed sooo much that Im excited just for that alone.

So here is a look back at the past and see my Izzy has grown ( as well as my photography skills…I saved myself the embarassment of ther “selective color” photos. )

awww… its cold out here….and I wanna snack

Happy Birthday Izzy and I love you so much!

Tuesday I was able to be part of a very special wedding.   Jay suprised his fiance’ Paula by showing up and taking her to the courthouse for a surprise wedding.  She knew they would be getting married at the courthouse, but she had no idea he was going to just show up and whisk her away.   This was a very last minute booking for me, but I was happy to be able to photograph this occasion for them.

After the courthouse, we went down to Pioneer Square in Seattle.    Since Jay and Paula have a similar style to mine, it was a perfect fit.  We had so much fun, and it was clear to me having only known them less then an hour how much they were in love.

Saturday August 15th, I had the pleasure of taking part in Erin and Roy’s wedding.   Having only met them about a month before, I was very honored that they trusted me with such short notice.
Their venue was the gorgeous Inglewood Golf Club.  If you have not been there, I highly recommend taking a look at their website.   With sprawling greens around the gold course, the hidden nooks and crannies of the inside, this really helps set the tone for a very classic wedding.

Erin’s colors were black and white with touch of green which can be seen in her floral decor around the venue.  It was so subtle yet really enhanced the look she was going for.   Erin opted to use 2 of the engagement photos form our session in Downtown Kirkland as sign in photos.  Set up on easels and on the table at the entrance.  Its always nice to see your work displayed and for people to enjoy looking at it!  :)

I had 2 assistants with me at this wedding.  My husband Josh who second shoots and also does lighting, as well as John Huson a fellow photographer from Tacoma.  His help was instrumental in catching different angles throughout the event and he did an awesome job! So thanks to John!!!
I was also able to work alongside some fantastic vendors. Susan Boogie- That Takes the Cake provided the not only gorgeous looking wedding cake, but one of the best I have tasted to date. ( yes i will admit i look forward to having a slice of cake)
Also Alexa Johnson- Fiore Blossoms, who provided the venue decor as well as the floral arrangements for the bouquets and boutonnieres.
Inglewood Golf Club’s own Audra Goetz was on hand to ensure the day ran smoothly and she does an incredible job of keeping everyone informed of the up to date events as they happen, and making sure that the vendors as well as her clients are well taken care of!
Erin and Roy also had a wedding planner Cindy Davisson.  She was instrumental in ensuring everything remained on point and on time throughout the day.  I know she was a huge part in the planning process and instrumental to the overall success of the event.

Besides working with Erin and Roy, I must say that working with Erin’s mom Dawn Johnson was fantastic.  She really made me feel like family, v.s someone she hired.  I really felt like I was able to express anything to her and she was receptive to ideas, as well as input on the timing and events of the day.  Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your daughter’s special day!

I must say these images are some of my favorite yet. I hope you agree!

I will admit I have a slight fascination with ring shots!

Back in July I was able to assist a fellow photographer Casey Karbowski with a wedding out in Federal way, Wa
Anna and Joe were a delight and so clearly in love that anyone in a mile radius could feel it.
