I love organizing things, and for the last 2 years I have organized photo shoots at WPPI.  I felt what better then to take that same premise and apply it here in Seattle.  I have met so many wonderful vendors and made so many photographer friends, I felt it was a great combination.   Weeks ago I started planning this event and chose Hotel 1000 as the venue.   Why did I choose Hotel 1000? For a few reasons, Josh just happens to be the Boka Restaurant Manager there, and I have established relationships with the hotel as I have done boudoir shoots there.    More so the venue itself is breathtaking, to me it is everything I want my photography to reflect classy, simple yet unique, elegant yet modern… it truly is a hotel unlike others I have been too.

So I began to gather vendors who wanted to participate and together came a GREAT group of people willing to make this event an success.

I couldn’t have done this without the support from the following:
Hotel 1000- Venue
SPA-  When from Seattle Photographers Associates.
Models- Christy, Kristian, Natalie, Tyease, Warren, Kayla and Kiran.
Makeup-Sheila Birashk
Hair- BB and Brittany from Absolut Salon
Flowers- The Petal and the Stem
Cake- Sugar Rush Baking Company
Candy Bar- ME ( could this be a new venture? lol)
Event Coordination- Josh

I must admit that one of my favorite things to do at weddings is steal ( I mean borrow) the bride and groom’s rings and take pictures of them. Not just rings on a table, but rings on a ribbon, rings on a dog statue, rings in flowers. I just love finding interesting things to do with them.

Im using a Nikon 35-70mm 2.8 on the macro setting. I must say that I covet the Nikon 105mm 2.8 VR and its my next purchase.
I can only imagine the fun I will have when I get that macro lens!

Heres some of my favorites

Over the past year I have had the pleasure of being part of so many peoples weddings.   I feel honored to have been the one chosen to photograph such an important event.    Detail Shots are some of my favorite things to capture.  From sparkling rings, to cascading bouquets, to intricate decor on the cake, I love to capture these from different perspectives and angles.
These are some of my favorite detail shots from some of the weddings over the past year.

Seattle Weddings 2009

Whispering Firs Lodge in Mount Vernon

Matt and Dana chose the quaint and outdoorsy feels of Whispering Firs Lodge in Mount Vernon for the setting of their August Wedding.
This outdoor wedding was fun and simple , with tons of secluded areas for photos as well as the sunset, it was a perfect location.
Here are my favorite detail shots from their day.

Inglewood Golf Club in Kenmore

I had so much fun shooting Erin and Roy’s wedding at the Inglewood Golf Club in Kenmore. They found me not even a month before due to some other circumstances and I was happy to step in. I felt like part of the family in that time and at the wedding it was so easy to capture the moments of the day. I must have taken 15 or so Ring Shots alone.   Really the venue was gorgeous and everything about the wedding was so perfectly planned out.   Here are my favorite detail shots

Los Angeles Weddings

The Hacienda in Santa Ana, CA

I got to spend a week in Los Angeles in October when I went down for Matt and Kara’s wedding. Although I am based in Seattle, I travel to Los Angeles at no additional cost as it is my second home. So when Kara called me and booked me over the phone, i was so happy. The Hacienda was a tucked away spanish infused venue in Santa Ana that was built back in 1901!  It really had everything, ceremony area, reception area outside and inside and it was decorated gorgeously.  The Hacienda is also a full service restaurant.
Here are my favorite detail photos.

Pierpoint Inn in Ventura, CA.

I am lucky enough to have great friends in the photography industry. In fact Charise and I met on a mommy board way back when. over the last 5 years we have grown as photographers and have always kept in touch. Charise of Photography By Charise lives in Simi Valley and she needed a 2nd shooter and any excuse to come to L.A is fine by me.
I went down for a weekend and shot 2 weddings with her.  This was the first.  Amanda and Bill, such a great couple and Pierpoint Inn is just spectacular.  Set above the coast line in Ventura, CA  The Pierpoint Inn has sprawling grounds  and breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean as well as gardens and many other beautiful locations for photos.
Here are my favorite detail shots from that wedding.

Hartley Botanica in Somis, CA.

The 2nd wedding I was able to shoot with Charise from Photography by Charise was Rachel and Tony’s.  Their wedding was held at one of my favorite locations to date Hartley Botanica in Somis, CA. You cant even imagine in your dreams what an amazing location Hartley Botanica is.  They have over 3 acres of  Beautiful floral gardens, waterfalls, and gazebo’s tucked away with the sounds of nature all around you and was designed specifically for weddings.
This was such a fun wedding and here are my favorite detail shots from that wedding.

Contact me with any questions you may have about your upcoming wedding.
I do travel to California at no additional cost.
